BackBone Fiberglass Mesh reinforces areas of your tank that need extra strength. If you have pinholes or weak areas on the exterior of your tank, you can embed the mesh into wet Tank Sealer to reinforce that area.

BackBone Mesh: Quick Facts

Use: exterior pinhole and weak-spot reinforcement
Applied with: embedded into wet Tank Sealer

Using BackBone Mesh for exterior pinhole repair, in brief:

  1. Prior to patching, prep the outside and inside of the tank with KBS Klean and RustBlast, and allow all surfaces to dry completely.
  2. Seal the inside of the tank as outlined in the standard directions.
  3. After sealing, immediately use any remaining Tank Sealer to paint a thin layer on the exterior pinhole area or areas.
  4. Using a suitably sized piece of BackBone Mesh, embed it directly into the wet Tank Sealer.
  5. Apply another thin coat of Tank Sealer, painting outward from the center, and let it cure fully.
